This 'Total Film' magazine cover shows the lead actor of the film Inception , Leonardo Dicaprio, in role as the main character. This is gathered as he is on the front cover of the magazine individually, so the focus is on him. It is clever how the magazine covers keeps the continuity of the trailer and poster as the word FILM is meant to be aerial overviews of city buildings in the shape of words, this is done for the film's teaser poster. The costume Dicaprio has on portrays that he is a smart, intellgent man with what could be a gun that he is holding suggesting he has power also. An artificial light can be seen projected on the left side of his face creating an eery impression as to what is happening.
The title INCEPTION is shown in big and bold letters and grey metallic colour as was all the credits and titles in the teaser trailer. The red title connotes that of blood or death giving the impression that the genre of the film is that which is suited more to a male target audience than a female one.
The magazine cover colours of dark blues, greys and blacks connote the cold and emotionless feel that is gathered from watchin the teaser trailer.
Overall this cover connotes the trailer very well as things such as the typography and colour themes have been carried on throughout, making the film more recognisable to the audience it is targeted at.
